Trick or Treat at Old Mill Farm

This ticketed event is a one hour time slot for trick-or-treaters young and old! Dress up and take pictures with our costumed animals, adventure through our haunted vineyard, pick a pumpkin to carve or decorate at home, and of course, get your candy! Tickets are limited to forty (40) per time slot to ensure the safety of event participants and to comply with the 50 person maximum outdoor gathering limit put forth by the NCDHHS.

We are thrilled to announce that a portion of the ticket sales for this event will go towards the Durham's Partnership for Children!

Old Mill Farm is excited to support Durham's Partnership for Children. DPfC's mission is "to ensure every child in Durham enters school ready to succeed, we lead community strategies for children birth to age 5 and their families that promote healthy development and learning and enhance access to high quality care." We encourage all event attendees to consider donating as well!

Covid-19 Protocols

In accordance with the CDC and NCDHHS recommendations surrounding COVID-19, we will be taking the following protocols to ensure the safety of our guests and staff:

  • Masks will be required​​.

  • Maintain at least six feet of distance between patrons and staff at all time.

  • Forty tickets will be sold for each time slot, in order to comply with the 50 person maximum gathering limit put forth by the NC Department of Health and Human Services.

  • We ask that you please stay home if you exhibit any of the following symptoms:

    • Fever/chills​

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

    • Fatigue

    • Muscle or body aches

    • New loss of taste or smell

    • Sore throat

    • Congestion or runny nose

    • Nausea or vomiting

Event Rules and Description

Participants will visit designated trick-or-treat spots around the property where they will be able to feed and see animals, take individually wrapped trick-or-treat baggies (filled with candy and toys), select a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch and enter our costume contest for a chance to win a Key to the Vineyard visit (valued at $95). The safety of our patrons and staff are paramount and this event is designed with everyone's safety in mind. We ask that all guests follow the items below to ensure a safe and happy experience for all event participants:

  • Please be mindful of other participants when trick-or-treating and/or visiting with animals by keeping a safe distance and moving through the different areas of the property at a reasonable pace.

  • Please do not bring any outside food for the animals. The animals are on strict diets. Feed will be provided by the event and will be available free of charge for event participants.

  • Please limit trick-or-treats bags to one per child, per station. We've designed this event so that we can safely offer trick-or-treating and will have limited baggies based on ticket sales. Event participants will be on the honor system.

  • Petting areas will be clearly marked and will have event staff present. There are other animal enclosures that are not accessible to event participants and will also be clearly marked and locked. You may feed/pet animals in these enclosures over/through the fence, but please do not enter these enclosures.

Tickets to this event are non-refundable. Presentation of valid ticket is required to enter the event. All tickets will be pre-sold. No tickets will be sold at the door. In the event of inclement weather, a reschedule date will be provided to all ticketed participants affected.

This is NC Agritourism event. Under North Carolina law, there is no liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity.'
