How long is the camp day?

Our Farm Summer Camps run from 8:30am-3:00pm. We also offer extended care from 3:00pm-5:30pm as an additional camp add-on.

What will my child need to bring to camp each day?

Children should bring a water bottle, snack, and lunch as well as sunscreen, bug spray if desired, close-toed shoes (shoes like Keens are ideal), and an extra change of clothes if desired. If your child intends to engage in our fun water play, please bring a bathing suit as well. Please make sure that all items brought to camp are labeled with your child's name.

Will there be activities for parents to attend?

Yes! All of our camps have a Family Open Farm on Fridays. During this time, parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends have an opportunity to experience a bit of what their camper created and experienced during the camp week. Further details about Family Open Farm will be sent out during each camp week.

What if my child has allergies, medical conditions, or other special needs?

We are a nut-free camp!! Please fill out all of the relevant information on our medical form(s). Be sure to speak with your child’s counselors and feel free to contact camp directors David or Karl if you have specific questions or information you would like us to know prior to your child attending camp. We want to make the Old Mill Farm Summer Camp a wonderful and positive experience for each and every camper. Let us know how we can make that happen for your child!

Who are the counselors at Old Mill Farm Farm?

Old Mill Farm hires qualified, passionate educators and college students to create a fantastic summer experience for all campers. We love to hire folks who love children, farm animals, nature, and fun! Your child’s counselors will be energetic, joyful, and knowledgeable. They will also be adept at communicating with you and your child with a genuine interest in how Old Mill Farm can best support your child during the camp day. Our ratio is 1:7, meaning that there will be at least one adult for every seven campers.

Who is 1870 Farm Summer Camp for?

Our all-day camp is for children ages 5-10 who love adventure, farm experiences, and making new friends! Campers interact and help care for our friendly farm animals, forest exploration and other age-appropriate crafts and activities.

Does Old Mill Farm Summer Camp specialize in anything?

Our specialty is creating a summer camp experience in which your child will feel right at home and excited to embark on adventures each day! We strive to ensure that every child is enjoying the camp activities that are available and that each camper feels included and supported in exploring his or her interests. Every day, farm care is incorporated into your child’s activities, including gardening and animal care. We offer such a variety of activities that campers from athletes to artists will find their niche as well as develop new interests.

What is the deposit required for each week of camp? When is my final payment due?

Before Jan 1, the deposit is $95. From Jan 1-March 31, the deposit is $200. After April 1, the camp must be paid for in full. Final payment of the remaining fee is due April 1 for any camps booked prior to April 1.

Is there a waiting list for camps that are full?

Yes! There is no cost to be added to the waiting list and you can add your child to as many waiting lists as you’d like. As soon as a spot opens up, we will contact you and offer it to your child. We ask that you please respond within 24 hours.

What is your cancellation policy?

Until February 1st we offer a 100% refund less a $39.50 administrative fee to cover our cost . Until April 1st we offer 50% percent refunds. After April 1st, we will do our best to accommodate a week change, but will not offer a refund. If your child is sick or you have a family emergency we will do our best to try and get your child in for a different week if we can. As we have a high counselor to camper rate, and our staffing is based on our enrollment we must stay strict with this policy.

What is your discipline policy?

We value kindness and cooperation between our campers while they are at camp. Camp families must review and sign a Camper Behavior Contract that outlines camp expectations and our discipline process. We thank you for your understanding! We want the Old Mill Farm Summer Camp to be as enjoyable as possible for all involved!
